Odyssey of the Mind tryouts coming up on Sept. 23 and 26
Omer, gosh! It’s almost time for Odyssey of the Mind tryouts for the 2024-2025 season.
Take part in the great Warwick tradition of award-winning, performative problem-solving, by being on one of our district teams. Odyssey tryouts are an audition process, and mandatory for any student who would like to be considered for a team. And yes… if you competed in previous years you still have to audition.
First Things First
– Download the 2024-25 Odyssey of the Mind Tryout Letter,
for all of the details about the 2024-25 tryout process and requisite participation form.
– Complete the online 2024-25 Odyssey of the Mind Tryout Form.
Tryout Dates
Grades 3-5
Monday, September 23
5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Callbacks will be Thursday, September 26, from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
Grades 6-12
Thursday, September 26
6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Callbacks will be Monday, September 30, at 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm.

How To Prepare for Tryouts
1. Download the paperwork and fill out the online form.
2. Complete ONE project choice and bring it to tryouts. Students may choose to bring a writing sample, or a recycled item project, or artwork.
3. Also bring a photo of the student who is trying out.
– Tryout projects must be based on this year’s official Odyssey of the Mind theme: OCEAN.
– Be prepared to present your project to a small group at tryouts.

Things to Know About Odyssey of the Mind
– There is a participation fee of $150 for students who make a team. This helps cover the cost of student t-shirts, registration, competition fees, and materials.
– If a team advances from the Regional to the State competition rounds, there is an additional $75 fee.
– If a team advances from the State round to the World Finals, students will be expected to participate in mandatory fundraising.
