WVHS band and orchestra groups win Music in the Parks Festival awards
The Warwick Valley High School Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band, and Symphony Orchestra competed at the 2023 Music in the Parks Festival at Dorney Park in Allentown, PA on June 2. Wind Ensemble placed first and Concert Band placed third in their respective divisions and also brought home the Overall Band Award. Chamber Orchestra placed second and Symphony Orchestra placed third in their divisions.
WVHS band and orchestra groups, collectively, were awarded the very prestigious Esprit de Corps Award, which recognizes the participating organization that displays an exemplary attitude of positive support and outstanding personal behavior throughout the festival weekend. Personal integrity, quality character values, a desire for excellence, and a spirit of cooperation serve as the cornerstone qualities of the Esprit de Corps Award.
Every group had an outstanding performance and the students should be applauded for their hard work, dedication and representing our district so well.
