Sanfordville students compete at Special Olympics

Sanfordville Elementary School students participated for the first time in the Orange County Elementary Special Olympics on June 3 at Presidential Park Elementary School in Middletown. 

The third and fourth graders from Sanfordville competed against teams from Chester, Marlboro, Middletown, Monroe-Woodbury, OU BOCES, Valley Central and Washingtonville. The athletes demonstrated their skills in soccer dribbling and shooting as well as passing, dribbling and shooting a basketball. 

The event featured an opening ceremony, competition and closing awards ceremony. Our students came home with lots of medals and ribbons, and a great time was had by all!  Many thanks to the parents and volunteers for helping make the event special!
