Wildcat cheer co-captain headed to Sacred Heart next year

Congratulations to WVHS senior cheerleader Alexa Borner! Alexa was accepted to Sacred Heart University (Fairfield, CT) and the Pioneers Cheer Team, which competes in the Northeast Conference.

Alexa — a co-captain of the Wildcats squad — has been part of the Warwick Valley cheer program for six years. During that time, her hard work and performance have earned her National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) and Universal Cheerleaders Association All-American honors. She was also recognized with an NCA Leadership Award.

Alexa is a member of the National Honor Society, a consistent High Honor Roll recipient, and a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete. Alexa plans to major in communications and minor in digital marketing.

In related Borner family news, Alexa’s twin brother, Drew, will be playing football for Wagner College next season, also a member school of the Northeast Conference.
