Park Avenue plans daily themed participation for Red Ribbon Week
Dear Park Avenue parents/guardians,
Once again, this year’s Red Ribbon theme — Be Happy, Be Brave and Be Drug Free — is meant to encourage children, families, and communities to live healthy, happy, and drug-free lives. It also serves as a reminder that we are all empowered with shaping the communities around us through positivity, bravery, and strength.
Although the message of Red Ribbon Week is centered around being drug and alcohol-free, because our students are young, we plan to focus on being happy, being brave, respecting our bodies and brains, and making healthy choices.
We encourage you to have your child participate in our schoolwide Red Ribbon Week by having your child dress with the following in mind:
DATE | MESSAGE | HOW WE’LL |
Monday, | Respect our bodies | Everyone wear something RED to show |
Tuesday, | Be like a superhero and | Dress up as your favorite Superhero |
Wednesday, | Say Boo to bad decisions | Wear your Halloween costumes |
Thursday, | Focus on positive choices | Wear bright socks |
Friday, | Vote for healthy bodies | Wear red, white, and blue |
In the event of rain on October 27, students should wear red, white, and blue on THAT day, and their Halloween costumes on October 29, which is also the rain date for Halloween Happenings.
Thank you in advance for having your children participate in Red Ribbon Week!
