Hey, Omers! Odyssey of the Mind tryouts are coming up fast

Omer, gosh… it’s almost time for Odyssey of the Mind tryouts!

Be part of the great Warwick tradition of prize-winning, performative problem-solving and be on one of our district’s teams. 

The OOTM tryout is an audition process. It is mandatory that all students attend the tryout date in order to be considered for an Odyssey team.  And yes, if you competed in previous years, you still have to audition.

When?

• Tuesday, October 10th
• 5:00-7:00 pm

Where?

• Mountain Lake Park
  46 Bowen Rd, Warwick

Who?

• Division 1, 2, 3
• Grades 3-12
• Grades 1&2…

What should you do?

• Complete your project choice and bring it to tryouts, and fill out the google form.
  

What should I bring?

• A photo of the student trying out
• One project choice:
  • Writing Sample, or…
  • Recycled Item Project, or…
  • Artwork

** Please base your project choice on the theme of CARNIVAL. Be prepared to present your project to a small group at tryouts.

Things to know about OOTM

• There is an OOTM participation fee of $125 for students who make a team
  • This helps cover the cost of student t-shirt, registration, competition fees, and materials.
  • If a team advances…
    • Additional $50 fee for states
    • Mandatory fundraising if your team moves on to the World Finals
• OOTM Regional Tournament: March 2, 2024 in Goshen (snow date: March 3, 2024)
• OOTM State Tournament: April 13, 2024 in Syracuse
• OOTM World Finals: May 22-25, 2024
