COVID Update 2.6.2021

Dear WVCSD Community, 

This evening, we received notification that one High School staff member tested positive for COVID-19. This staff member was at school during his/her infectious period.  This case resulted in the quarantining of approximately 32 students and three staff members.  

The following overview will provide you with a summary of the positive cases that occurred since my last update on February 4, 2021: 

• Middle School: One student tested positive. This student was not in school during his/her infectious period. 
• High School: Two students tested positive. Both students were not in school during their infectious periods. 

We continue to update our COVID-19 Dashboard/Report Card daily — New York State’s COVID Report Card. The New York State Education Department (NYSED) considers Pine Island ES as a Sanfordville Elementary satellite school. Therefore, the NYSED requires the District to add Pine Island School’s COVID-19 cases to the Sanfordville Elementary report. 

Please continue to keep your child and his/her siblings home if they feel ill or are awaiting COVID test results.
