Congratulations to the newest members of the National Technical Honor Society and CTE awardees
Warwick Valley High School inducted 13 new members into the National Technical Honor Society and honored 25 Career and Technical Education (CTE) students at the Career and Technical Education Recognition Ceremony and Honor Society Induction on June 3, 2022.
Members of the National Technical Honor Society pledge to maintain high standards of personal conduct, scholastic achievement and citizenship. New inductees received certificates and packets confirming their membership in the national organization. Additionally, all eleven senior members received their NTHS sashes and cords to wear at graduation.
At the second ceremony, the twenty-five seniors in our three in-house CTE programs (Cosmetology, Criminal Justice and Video Production) were recognized for their outstanding achievements over the past two years. Based on their performance in the class and on their NOCTI exams, students received accreditation certificates, college credit recommendation letters and/or licensing certification. The night culminated with scholarships being awarded to two exceptional students from each of the three programs
“It’s so impressive that after a year that 100 percent of these kids showed that they have the skills to enter the workforce,” Ms. Fusco said. “They know how to speak the language of their industry, they listen to their clients and really learned how to be professional. And that’s after a year of being on a hybrid schedule or not coming to school at all. To learn those skills in the conditions that they did speaks to their grit, their resilience and their commitment to the program.“
