WVMS vs. Harlem Wizards b-ball game puts the fun in fundraising (GALLERY)
Warwick Valley Middle School students, staff and their families had a blast during the WVMS Educators vs. Harlem Wizards Fundraiser Basketball Game on Thursday night. The event, presented by WVMS and the WVMS PTA, sold nearly 1,000 tickets, including premium meet-and-greet packages. In all, the event raised significant funds that will benefit WVMS students.
The near-capacity crowd had smiles on their faces even before tip-off, as the Harlem Wizards delivered on expectations from the moment they stepped on the WVMS court! They wowed the crowd with their basketball skills and tricks to kick things off, and kept the audience involved once the game tipped off, by pausing the action for crowd- and student-participation segments.
Final Score: Everyone wins! But really… 68-63, Wizards.
WVMS Principal, and WVMS player, Jared Yapkowitz shared that the WVMS vs. Harlem Wizards fundraiser is the largest event the school has hosted during his six years here in Warwick, and thanked the WVMS PTA for all of their amazing hard work, collaborating with administration to plan and execute a fantastic evening. He recognized the following people for their contributions to making it such a resounding success!
