WVHS students recognized by National Merit Scholar Corporation
Principal Marguerite Fusco announced on Thursday, September 29, that six WVHS students have been named Commended Students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) was presented to each of these scholastically talented seniors.
Commended WVHS students in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program are:
- Noah Adelsberg
- Thomas Kanz
- Hunter Ludovicy
- Julia Singh
- Trevor Stevens
- Camren West
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. NMSC Commended Students are among the top 50,000 students to enter the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
“Noah, Thomas, Hunter, Julia, Trevor, and Camren are receiving these commendations from the National Merit program because they’ve already exhibited an outstanding commitment to learning, and their boundless potential for further academic success,” said Prinicpal Fusco. “They should be proud of themselves for having the dedication it takes to achieve what they have, and for being recognized for the results of their hard work.”
The NMSC recognizes students who they regard as a “valuable national resource,” and “[recognizes] their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development.”
