WVHS Interact Club helping make the season bright around Warwick
The WHVS Interact Club has been working to collect bags of food for local Warwick families in need during he holiday season. This is the sixteenth year that club students has lent their hands to the local food pantry. WVHS social studies teacher Ms. Jeanine Fogler has been Interact Club advisor for 19 years, and developed the great relationship between her students and the food pantry.
“We hope to keep supporting the food panty for years to come,” said Ms. Fogler. “On behalf of all the Interact students, I want to thank all of the faculty, staff, and students who donated so much to this important cause!”
By the generosity of their school community, the Interact Club was able to deliver 52 bags of food to the pantry in time for Thanksgiving this past November, and another 25 bags are on their way to the pantry for Christmas.
The Interact Club also volunteered at the Warwick Valley Rotary Club’s annual holiday party for children on December 10!
The students acted as “elves,” guiding children around the event that included refreshments, games, holiday-themed room and activities, crafting, decorating, and portraits with Santa. Each child received a bag of presents courtesy of the Warwick Valley Rotary Club, and even got to shop for a gift to give to their own families.
“We’ve volunteered for this event for many years,” said Ms. Fogler. “We look forward to to being a part of it every year, and for years to come.”
From Ms. Fogler and the members of the WVHS Interact Club… Happy Holidays!
