WVHS artists awarded at regional Scholastic Art Awards Competition
Congratulations, to the 10 WVHS artists whose work was recognized during the 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards on Friday, February 2, held in the Studley Theater at SUNY New Paltz.
The creators won awards for their work in various disciplines, including photography, fashion, drawing, and mixed media. All together, Warwick artists were honored with 16 awards, including nine Silver Key awards, six Gold Key awards, and an American Vision nomination for senior Juliana Woods — her second in two years! (Read about her 2023 win here.)

The event, hosted by the Hudson Valley Regional Scholastic Affiliate, is the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. At the Regional Level, entries are considered for Gold and Silver Key Awards, Honorable Mentions, and for American Visions Award nominations.
The American Visions Award recognizes core values of originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision, and regional jurors may consider various elements that showcase talent and diversity, such as different mediums, viewpoints, and backgrounds. Regional jurors can nominate just five works, and the artist must first earn a Gold Key in their region. Nominations are reviewed by national judges to receive an American Visions Medal.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Exhibition will remain open to the public until February 26, inside the Fine Arts Building Rotunda at SUNY New Paltz.
Congratulations, to our award-winning artists!
