Welcome!
The WVCSD elementary school counseling program at Park Avenue and Sanfordville Elementary schools helps students reach their academic, personal, social/emotional, and career potential beyond their elementary school years. Our school counseling program plays a positive role in a student’s academic development, college and career readiness, and social and emotional development.
Elementary counselors work collaboratively with administrators, classroom teachers, school staff, and families. They offer lessons on life skills, such as understanding one’s feelings, how to be a good friend, and building self-confidence. They also provide group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, communication and referrals to families and community agencies, positive behavior intervention supports, and more.
We are student advocates with a mission to provide a comprehensive guidance program that assists students in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners.
