WVHS Drama Club

Makes Its WVHS Premiere This March!

This March, the Drama Club is proud to present — for the first time at WVHS — the hilarious, Tony Award-nominated, campy roller skating musical adventure Xanadu!

Tickets on sale Monday, February 27, 2023 at 8:00 am.

Based on the cult classic movie of the same title (with Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, and an original score by Electric Light Orchestra), Xanadu follows Sonny, a lost artist, and Kira, his Greek muse, who inspires love, laughter and the world’s first roller disco in this 1980s glitter explosion. The score is electric, with such 80s ELO classics as “I’m Alive,” “Evil Woman,” “Suddenly,” and, of course, the title song, “Xanadu.” With a central theme of following our dreams despite limitations placed on us, Xanadu is hilarity on wheels for adults, children and anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired.

Directing the musical for his 24th year is the Drama Club advisor Nick DiLeo. Joining him are Donna Nestor and Ruth Trovato as producers, Beth Maisonet as choreographer, Noreen Hanson as vocal director, Megan Shafer as music director, and Rocco Manno and the WVHS set design class as set creators.
