Park Ave Student Council kicks off annual Wreaths Across America campaign

The Park Ave Student Council invites you to support their annual Wreaths Across America campaign!

“Help us honor our veterans by donating to the Park Ave Student Council’s Wreaths Across America campaign. Our goal is to raise $3,500 for wreaths to place on the graves of those who served. Every contribution makes a difference!”

Each year, Park Avenue Student Council members raise funds to buy wreaths as part of the national Wreaths Across America campaign. On wreath laying event days, the students place theirs at the gravesites of local US military veterans. The Student Council is also instrumental in planning and producing Park Avenue’s highly-anticipated annual Veterans Day celebration. The patriotic event draws a large, appreciative audience of local military veterans and their families. The assembly is preceded by musical performances, and opens with the presentation of the flag by US Marines. The presentation includes multiple musical performances throughout, by ensembles from kindergarten to the high school’s Meistersingers. There are also recognitions and addresses by Park Avenue Administration and Student Council representatives, as well as local elected officials and District Administration.

After the assembly, a luncheon in the cafeteria for the veterans in attendance and their families.
