Friendsgiving fun with Mrs. Overbey and Mrs. Greiner

Carla Overbey and Carrie Ann Greiner’s third and fourth grade classes hosted a lovely Friendsgiving for their fellow classmates and staff at Sanfordville Elementary School on Friday.

Students started off the day by prepping for their meals for Friendsgiving. They circulated different stations to learn how to stay within budget, follow recipes, measure items and maintain safety while cooking. 

The menu consisted of string beans, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, apple and pumpkin pie. Once everything was cooked, students invited in staff members to take a taste of their carefully curated recipes. They decorated the tables with tablecloths and centerpieces. Students in the class also took the order of each person that came in to enjoy the feast. 

Students also had the opportunity to create dream catchers, and learn about their importance in the Native American peoples’ way of life.  After a hard day’s work, students ended the day relaxing while they watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.  Fun was had by all!
