Three Wildcats earn All-Section honors

Great news out of Wildcats country! Wildcats football players Latrell Willis, Jake Rooney and Johnny Accardo each earned All-Section honors for their outstanding performances during the 2023 varsity season. Overall, the Wildcats put together a six-win season, including a semifinal berth.

Latrell led all receivers with 38 receptions, averaging nearly 12 yards per reception. He also contributed 25 tackles from his defensive end position.

Linebacker Jake Rooney led Section IX in tackles, with 142 total (98 solo). Jake has established himself as one of Warwick’s all-time leading tacklers.

Strong safety Johnny Accardo earned All-Section for his 78 total tackles and 6 interceptions. Johnny also logged some minutes at running back, rushing for 178 yards and three touchdowns in a quarterfinal game.

Quarterback Will Siebert and receiver Dylan Sullivan were selected All-League by the Section IX Coaches Association. Will rushed for over 400 yards and threw for nearly 1,200. Dylan had 25 catches for more than 541 yards, averaging 23 yards per reception.
