WVMS Wildcats honor teachers in Week 4

October 11, 2023

The WVMS Wildcats are in Week 4 of their modified football season! This week, the team’s My Jersey, Your Impact campaign continues. Each week, two of our Wildcat football players share their jersey’s with a teacher of their choice, whose guidance has made an impact on them during their middle school days. The jerseys are shared on gamedays, and teachers can display them in their classrooms or even wear them!

This week’s players are jersey numbers 1 and 2 themselves.

Cormac Mezzetti, #1
QB

Although this is eighth grader Cormac’s first year playing football, he has made an immediate impact as a natural team leader. He has exhibited excellent control of the huddle, and has a particular knack for extending plays.

As coach Mark Botta put it, “Cormac has the ability to turn nothing into something!”

Cormac chose to give his jersey to his seventh grade science teacher, Tracey Waters, a passionate teacher who goes above and beyond to ensure all of her students reach their full potential. Cormac credits Ms. Waters for always “keeping [him] on track,” and said she is a phenomenal teacher whose guidance he appreciated throughout seventh grade.

Ms. Waters is proud to display Cormac’s #1 jersey!

Jason Brady, #2
WR

Jason may be new to organized football, but he’s a quick learner! Having mastered the Wildcat playbook, he learned multiple positions on offense. It helps to have one of the teams fastest athletes at wide receiver, and coach Botta said, “his speed adds a dynamic element to our offense.”

Jason chose to give his jersey to Kendra Wendt, because he considers her “one of the best!” He had Ms. Wendt for sixth grade science and math, but has actually known her his entire life. We get it, Jason. We all love Ms. Wendt for the wonderful relationships she builds with her students.

Ms. Wendt is proud to display Jason’s #2 jersey.
