Warwick PD offering two Junior Police Academy sessions this summer

June 13, 2024

The district is pleased to share that Warwick youths will have another opportunity this summer to experience the various aspects of police work in a fun and structured setting at the Warwick Police Department’s Junior Police Academy (JPA). Students who are age 10 to 15 and who reside in the Warwick, Greenwood Lake and Florida school districts are invited to participate in this collaborative effort between the Warwick Police Dept. and the Warwick Valley Central School District.

This year, two sessions will be held from 8:30 am to 3 pm at Warwick Valley High School (89 Sanfordville Rd.).

  • Session I: July 15 – July 26
  • Session II: August 5 – August 16

Led by the Warwick PD’s School Resource Officers, the goal of this program is for children to enjoy themselves while gaining an understanding of police training and service. The JPA consists of physical training, lectures, presentations, field trips, and hands‐on activities. Students must be available to attend all 10 days of the program, and applicants must complete a two-question essay. There is a limited capacity, and preference will be given to first-time attendees.

Program Cost

$250 (includes two WJPA shirts, a hat, and water bottle)
