Wildcats modified football players honor two more teachers
The Wildcats modified football team battled hard against a strong Kingston team on Tuesday night, falling 20-7. The Wildcats are 2-2 on the season. Prior to this week’s game, two more Wildcats paid tribute to teachers who have been influential in shaping their middle school careers, as part of the teams ongoing recognition campaign — My Jersey, Your Impact.
AJ Perron & Ms. Reuckert
One of the Wildcats many returning players, Coach Botta said that AJ has done “a little bit of everything” for the team this year. Last year, AJ was a slot receiver and the primary target in the Wildcats passing game. This year, AJ has assumed the role of starting running back, and has proven incredibly elusive. “He can make defenders look silly in open space,” added Coach Botta. Opposing teams have made the mistake of letting AJ’s size fool them, only to be confounded by his deceptively strong running attack, which has been a vital component of this year’s offense. AJ chose to share his jersey with his eighth grade social studies teacher, Ms. Rueckert. AJ loves the energy Ms. Reuckert brings to the classroom, and her teaching style overall. He said that he felt an immediate connection with her from day one.
Mickey Reilly & Ms. Gallagher
Mickey is in his first year with the Wildcats, and has been open to fill any role for the betterment of the team. Mickey always shows up ready to work and he has played multiple positions throughout the season. In addition to football, Mickey also shines on the baseball field! Mickey chose to give his jersey to his math teacher, Ms. Gallagher. He appreciates all the support she gives him, and he knows how much progress he has made in math because of her.
Go Wildcats!
