Food Services: Parent concerns about their students’ meals

Some of the concerns voiced by parents two years ago:

  • “I want to support the Food Services Department, but even if my child buys lunch in school, I still need to send him with something extra to get him through the day.”
  • “My child is not getting enough to eat.”
  • “My child participates in after-school activities. Lunch is the last chance to have a meal that will carry him through till dinner – but it doesn’t.”
  • “I feel I’m being forced to spend extra money every day so my child can buy additional food to satisfy his hunger.”
  • “Why does my child have to take food on her tray even if she doesn’t want it?”
