student Caroline Moore is a guest of honor at white house
Oct. 13, 2009 - W.V.H.S. sophomore Caroline Moore attended a "Night of Astronomy" last week at the White House. On October 7, 2009 the President and First Lady hosted NASA astronauts, area middle schoolers, and innovators in the field of astronomy for a night of fun, learning, and stargazing on the South Lawn. Warwick's own Caroline Moore and another student from West Virginia were honored by the President and stood next to him as he made remarks before the evening's activities. Ms. Moore made her discovery of a Supernova last Fall. (See article below.)

freshman discovers supernova
Fall, 2008 - Ninth grade student Caroline Moore may be the youngest person ever to have discovered a supernova. As part of a research team based in Atlanta, Caroline is one of 28 people worldwide looking for subtle changes in images of the night sky taken by the team’s telescopes. Her astronomical find has been confirmed by the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams at Harvard.
