WVHS Named One of U.S. News & World Report's "2012 Best High Schools"

May 11, 2012 - Warwick Valley High School made U.S. News & World Report's list of 2012 Best High Schools. U.S. News awarded more than 4,850 gold, silver, and bronze medals to the top-performing schools. WVHS earned their silver award and was ranked 1,143rd nationally and 143rd within New York State. To determine  national rankings, schools were analyzed at the state level in terms of student performance on state assessments and then ranked nationally in terms of college readiness.  The 2012 rankings included data on nearly 22,000 public high schools. SADD Club to Sponsor "Mock Crash"
on Fri., May 18 - Event Will Stream Live

May 18, 2012 - The WVHS SADD Club (Students Against Destructive Decisions) creates a "Mock Crash" every other year as a graphic demonstration to their classmates of the potential injury and death that can result from a bad decision. On Friday, students will go outside at approximately 9:15 a.m. The actual event begins at 9:30 a.m. and will last about one hour. The Mock Crash will stream live at: www.ustream.tv/channel/wvhs-sadd-crash.

Book Signing for WVHS 2008 Alum Rebecca Van Der Jagt

A book signing event will be held on Sat., June 2 at 3:00 p.m. at the Albert Wisner Public Library. WVHS Class of '08 alum Rebecca Van Der Jagt will be on hand to sign copies of her first book, "Sold Everywhere But Borders." Rebecca is currently a graduate student at Columbia Teachers College in New York City. To register for this event, which is open to the public, call 986-1047, ext. 3. April 18, 2012 - Soldiers from the brigade of WVHS grad, Captain Jason Mazzella, are in need of your help. During an attack on their base, 200 soldiers’ living quarters with all their belongings were burned to the ground. These soldiers have nothing.
